The Department of Computer Science and Systems Engineering was established in the Academic year 1999-2000 is offering B.Tech. in Computer Science and Systems Engineering (CSSE) with an annual intake of 40. The intake was increased to 60 in the academic year 2002-2003 and subsequently to 120 in the Academic year 2012-2013. The B.Tech (CSSE) program was Re-accredited (second cycle of Accreditation) by NBA for Three years (01.07.2020 to 30.06.2023). The department is also offering B.Tech. Computer Science and Business Systems from the AY 2020-2021 with an intake of 60 and B.Tech. Computer Science and Engineering (Cyber Security) from the AY 2021-2022 with an intake of 60.

About Department

The Computer Science & Systems Engineering is a multi-facet arena that involves computer hardware manufacturing, information or communication systems and healthcare systems development and management. The industry throws open a gamut of opportunities for young individuals to make a successful career. SVEC’s Computer Science & Systems Engineering department was established in the year 1999 with annual intake of 40, followed by an increase to 60 in the year 2002 and to 120 by the year 2012.The department equips students with all the necessary learning mechanisms to exceptionally develop computing systems (Hardware). Housing 246 Computer Systems with latest configuration and a library with latest Titles, Editions, NPTEL Courseware, Journals alongside an internet facility, the department provides students with best scope to learn and imbibe maximum knowledge.

While the most enriching knowledge transfer happens through frequently held Seminars and Guest Lectures alongside Technical Symposiums / paper contests; the department ensures perfection by attaching a batch of only 15 students to a guide, facilitating quick and easy approach to learning. The Department’s Systems Engineers Association (SEA) organizes Co-Curricular and Extra-Curricular activities regularly, to keep the spirit of the students high, facilitating overall personality development.

The Department is headed by Dr. A. Balasubramani, who has over two decades of Teaching and 1 year of Industry experience. He got his M.Tech Degree in Computer Science and Engineering from Central University, Pondicherry and Ph.D. in Computer Science and Engineering from Sri Venkateswara University, Tirupati. He has published 4 research papers in reputed International journals. His areas of expertise are Steganography, Operating Systems and Artificial Intelligence.

UG: B.Tech (CSSE)

The Department is offering B.Tech Computer Science and Systems Engineering (CSSE) with annual intake of 120 besides an additional 10% though Lateral Entry scheme. The B.Tech (CSSE) program was Re-accredited (second cycle of Accreditation) by NBA for three years (01.07.2020 to 30.06.2023). The department is offering Minor/Honor Degree in Cyber security.

PROGRAM EDUCATIONAL OBJECTIVES:

After few years of graduation, the graduates of B.Tech (CSSE) will:

  1. Demonstrate competencies in the Computer Science domain and Management with an ability to comprehend, analyze, design and create software systems for pursuing advanced studies in the areas of interest.
  2. Evolve as entrepreneurs or be employed by acquiring required skill sets for developing computer systems and solutions in multi-disciplinary areas.

The Department is offering B.Tech Computer Science and Business Systems (CSBS) with annual intake of 60 besides an additional 10% though Lateral Entry scheme. The objective of B.Tech (CSBS) program is to produce a workforce to support Business 4.0.

The graduates of B.Tech (CSBS) program have to design, develop, and maintain intelligent, elastic, lean, combinational and Real Time Digital Enterprise. This program mainly focuses on the digital technology skills with business applications rather than engineering concepts.

PROGRAM EDUCATIONAL OBJECTIVES

After few years of graduation, the graduates of B.Tech (CSBS) will:

The students of CSSE established the Department level student Technical Associaton as SEA in the year 2008.This Association mainly aims to encourage the students in various Technical, Organizational, and Communication Skills.It helps to enhance the Technical skills set of latest Technologies and also to develop the leadership, academic and Management skills in the workplace among students.

The students of CSSE established the Department level student Technical Associaton as SEA in the year 2008.This Association mainly aims to encourage the students in various Technical, Organizational, and Communication Skills.It helps to enhance the Technical skills set of latest Technologies and also to develop the leadership, academic and Management skills in the workplace among students.

Objectives

  • To impact knowledge in latest trends of computer sciences, software systems, mobile systems and embedded systems.
  • To practice skills related to advanced programming to solve real time problems.
  • To apply the concepts of computer science for innovative development of software and hardware systems for societal needs.
  • To inculcate professional values, ethics, leadership, teamwork through co-curricular and extra-curricular activities.

  1. Advanced Knowledge in core concepts of Computer Science and Systems Engineering.
  2. Analyze computer systems and software systems to meet the changing needs of the society.
